Rules

Abatex is a football pools game run by ABATEX NIGERIA LTD. You pick fixtures you expect to end in a draw. You must be 18 or over to play.

Vouchers

• Buy a voucher from any Abatex seller. Each voucher has a PIN that works once and is valid for 12 months.
• Your stake is the full value of the vouchers you enter. You can use several vouchers on one entry, up to ₦5,000.
• Keep your vouchers safe: anyone with the PIN can play it. A lost voucher can't be refunded.

Bet types

• 3-NAP (also called Under 3 or 3/3): pick exactly 3 fixtures. All 3 must be draws.
• Perm, 3 from X: pick 4 to 20 fixtures. Every combination of 3 of them is a line: for example 3 from 5 is 10 lines, 3 from 7 is 35 lines. Each line wins if all 3 of its fixtures are draws.
• 4-NAP, 5-NAP and One Banker will be added later.

Draws and odds

• Any match that ends level is a draw, including 0-0.
• The odds depend on how many of the week's 49 matches end in a draw:

• Your entry keeps the odds that were in force when you made it. They are on your stake receipt.
• Postponed or abandoned matches are settled by the Pools Panel verdict: a Panel draw counts as a draw, a Panel home or away win does not. Where there is no Panel verdict, the Nigerian promoters' verdict applies. We'll send you a notice if a match in your entry is affected.

Winnings

• Your stake is divided equally across your lines, rounded down to the whole naira. For example ₦1,000 on 3 from 7 is ₦28 a line (35 lines, ₦980 in play); the ₦20 that can't be divided is not returned.
• On a perm you can instead choose an amount per line; your vouchers must add up to exactly that amount times the number of lines.
• Winnings = amount per line × odds × winning lines. Your stake is not added back. The most one entry can win is ₦1,000,000.
• Winners are paid by bank transfer to their own account, normally on Sunday evening once the last match is decided. In a week with exceptionally high winnings, part of a win may be paid in weekly instalments within 4 weeks; your result SMS tells you exactly what is paid now and when the rest follows.

Entries close at the first kick-off

Entries for a week close automatically at the first kick-off of that week's coupon, by our system clock. There is no grace period.

Receipts

Every entry gets an SMS receipt when you make it, and a result SMS after the matches: "PAID" with the amount and account if you win.

Wrong PINs

To protect everyone's vouchers from guessing:

• After 5 wrong PINs within 30 minutes, PIN entry pauses for 30 minutes. We always tell you how many tries you have left before this happens.
• If it happens again within 24 hours, PIN entry pauses for 24 hours.
• If it happens a third time within a week, PIN entry is held until our support team has checked it with you.
• A pause never stops you checking results, your entries or your winnings, and winnings are always paid as normal.

Playing responsibly

• Only stake money you can afford to lose. Never borrow to play.
• Set yourself a weekly limit and keep to it.

Your information

We keep only what we need to run the game and pay you: your phone number, your bank account (stored encrypted; we only ever show its last 4 digits) and your entries. We handle it under Nigeria's Data Protection Act.
